Mont Plaisir

Mont Plaisir

Description

Mont Plaisir is a secure and peaceful Guest Farm with self catering accommodation in Fouriesburg, Eastern Free State, in the Golden Gate Region, and has been graded by the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa 4 stars.

Mont Plaisir is a working asparagus and grain farm with a 360 degrees view, located 6 km out of Fouriesburg town, with three luxurious self-catering units and one B&B room in the historic Old Main House.

Dutch émigré owners Robbie and Natasha named the farm "Mont Plaisir", which means "Mountain of Indulgence", after an old colonial coffee plantation in South America where they used to live before coming to South Africa in 2003.

Fouriesburg is situated in the Brandwater Basin, south of Bethlehem, in the Golden Gate area, and offers you the fantastic scenery of the Red Mountains, the White Mountains, the Maluti Mountains, the splendid Golden Gate National Park and many historic sites from the Anglo-Boer War. It is ideal for out-door activities, such as hiking, horse riding, fishing, hunting, 4x4, quad biking and abseiling, but for those who just want to relax it is also the place to be.
We offer from the farm several horse riding trips, such as hourly rides, day rides and overnight rides.

Mont Plaisir also offers 4x4 day trips in the area and into Lesotho with its majestic Maluti Mountains, the Katse Dam, the various nature reserves, and of course snow skiing in winter at Afri-ski. For the more adventures we also have several overnight tours into Lesotho.
